Oh, yeah, we like the house-made jalapeno bacon so much we also shared the soup special: the jalapeno bacon corn chowder that had a great balance of heat and cream with crisp, green onions on top ($3.99). Served on a baguette, the beef is smothered in caramelized onions, horseradish cream sauce and arugula. And, the beer-braised beef sandwich ($11.99), a newer item on the menu, came out tender and juicy with enough beer used to give the meat a nice sweetness. We had the jalapeno bacon and fried green tomato benedict over the signature Sage Biscuit with a side of wonderfully seasoned potatoes ($10.99). The same visit also found my wife and I equally impressed with a couple of our favorites from our days regularly frequenting the Cortez location. That said, the fries and potato salad are good, too. First-timers should definitely check out the house-made cucumber-chickpea salad, which complemented my beautiful pile of pastrami nicely.
